Clueless

I know I have lots to update about and I will get to it all, I hope, at some point. But right now I only have a couple of minutes so I thought I'd just tell you about something really funny that happened while I was in the hospital. Hubby's friend, B, came and visited me. We were chatting a bit and then we had this conversation:
B: Wow! You guys are spending the big bucks getting a private room and all.
Me: All the rooms are private.
B: Really? No! Don't you have to share a room?
Me: No. I think the hospital would have a hard time getting a decent Women's Center running if they made their postpartum patients share rooms with each other.
B: Ooooooh...(pause) You have postpartum?

Why didn't I think of that??

So while I was at the OB yesterday (post pee incident), I met with one of the doctors. This is not my primary doctor and will not be doing the deliver, but she is super nice and one of my favorites. She listened to the baby's heartbeat and had me sign my c-section consent form. She then said to me, I kid you not, "Ok well, we'll see you next Thursday (that's when I'm having my c-section), but if you into labor before then, just give us a call." Um...yeah...that sounds like a good idea to me!!

Did he seriously just say that to me?

I am sure that given my long absence, I hardly have any readers left at all, but let me just say for the one or two of you that are still out there, alert your husbands that under NO circumstances is it EVER ok to tell your wife that her a$$ has gotten bigger. I don't care how pregnant said a$$ might be.

Fertile Friends

"I think I must be getting more fertile as I get older." That is what my friend told me the other day. Isn't that the greatest thing you've ever heard? I mean, next to her news that OOPS! She's pregnant w/ baby number FOUR!!! Baby number three is only 7 months, so you can imagine what a shocker this was. I am feeling all sorts of feelings about this. Sadly, the least of which is happy for her. I'm not completely devastated though, as I usually am when she fesses up with a pregnancy. Part of me is truly just annoyed, though. Her oldest is a 4 year old girl, and sadly, my friend has told me several times, that she can't stand her and that she is a spoiled brat. Who says that about their child and then continues to procreate? My friend was of course thrilled to find out about my pregnancy. She reminded me how much out lives "parallel" each others'. HA! If only she knew...

While buying bagels

The lady ringing me up as I bought a bag of bagels (my children singing nearby while they waited for me): They are so cute playing together like that. Two kids is perfect. Don't have three. That will be a nightmare and mess everything up. Believe me, I've been there. Two is good, but if you have three, it will ruin your life.

I had so many responses running through my head...but instead of saying any of them, I just asked for extra cream cheese.

I couldn't make this stuff up

Hubby (while we were talking on the phone): You need to start keeping a sterile cup in the bathroom to collect everything in.

Beta update

So I had another beta yesterday. I was able to breathe a sigh of relief for about a minute. It went up to 2875 and progesterone was at 44.06. So I had a few minutes of happiness. Now, of course, I’m back to panic. I am so scared. I have a nagging pain in my right ovary, which I had during my last cycle. Also, this morning, Hubby rolled on top of me. Now that I’m forbidden fruit, he can’t take his hands off of me. When I’m ready, willing, and able, it’s a whole different story. But anyway, he tried to get some action. Truthfully, I let him try for a few minutes before I panicked and freaked out thinking he was going to squash the baby out so I made him stop. Now I am so scared. Please tell me he couldn’t squash the baby out or kill is. Seriously, I am so scared.

I go back for another beta tomorrow. Please pray for a good number for me.
